Summary
Mirzapur is about the rivalry of two mafia gangs who want to
gain power and constantly try to exterminate each other. The leader of
the Mirzapur Akhandanan Tripathi
popularly known as Kaleen bhaiya is one of the most powerful gangsters by his
name the whole city and even policeman gets scared and no one can go against
him.
Kaleen bhaiya has a son name Munna bhaiya who is a punk and
uses his father's name to do anything he wants and kill anybody without having any fear of law and order, as no one wants to stand against
Kaleen bhaiya.
The other mafia gang who is as powerful as Kaleen bhaiya is
Rati Shankar who is the king of Jaunpur and always dream to take over the Mirzapur
and throw over Kaleen bhaiya and get its revenge for what his family had done
to him.
But the nightmare started for Munna bhaiya when a lawyer
named Ramakant Pandit decided to stand against them. Munna bhaiya tries to
threaten Ramakant Pandit and his family but gets beaten instead by Ramakant
Pandit’s sons named Guddu and Bablu.
Kaleen bhaiya offered Guddu and Bablu to work for him and
this leads to a sense of jealously in Munna for Guddu and Bablu as Munna thinks
that his father likes them more than him. Soon this jealousy converted into
hatred and Munna planned to exterminate his father to take on the throne of Mirzapur.
Later, he planned to create misunderstanding between Kaleen
bhaiya and Guddu & Bablu to overthrow the trust of Kaleen bhaiya on Guddu & Bablu and clear them from his way to take on
Mirzapur.

Seasons and Episodes
Mirzapur consists of a total of 2 seasons. Season 1 was
released officially on 16 November 2018 and Season 2 was official released on 23
October 2020 (FYI: Surprisingly it was released on Amazon Prime one day before
its official date).
Season 1 consists total of 9 episodes whereas Season 2
consist of 10 episodes in total 19 episodes with running time of nearly 50 mins
each. The best thing is the makers did not unnecessarily extend the length of
the web series.
Season 1 vs Season 2
Season 1 was best known for its badass and hilarious
dialogues and comic time whereas Season 2 for its perfect follow-through of the
story.
Season 1 had a simple story line up while Season 2 has a
relatively complex one. Season 1 was
about the actions of characters whereas Season 2 follows the consequences of
the actions in Season 1.
Season 2 also shows the influence of politics which is
missing in Season 1. Season 2 covers a broader aspect but contain less
punches as compare to season 1 as Season 2 tone was more of serious one than Season 1.
Highlights of Mirzapur
It is one of the best Indian web series which pulled so much
attention. It is best known for its hilarious and badass dialogues but you also
cannot miss the action sequences shown in this series. This series is a fiction plotted on the rivalry of mafia gang and their constant action to gain superiority over each
other is well depicted.
Some of the sequences are so dramatic and intense which will
entertain you very much and hook you to this series. The comic timing is also
great and it doesn’t seem to be embedded needlessly in the Series.
Some of the scenes are explicit too but not too much of it
and the storyline is great without any unnecessary extra elements, even with such
simple plot it will entertain you in all aspects.
My perspective/ opinion
In my opinion, Mirzapur is one of the best web series that
India and Amazon Prime have to offer. It contains all the elements that you want
in a web series, it will thoroughly entertain you and you will really love it.
I mostly enjoyed the perfectly embedded comedy in this web
series with its hilarious and badass dialogues, the characters are unique and
best presented.
Season 2 is a little bit off drawn and contain some loopholes
as some sequences look a little bit based on luck but in the whole it is good.
I am really hoping for Season 3 to be good and not to ruin
the whole web series as many web series start to be good but after that, they go
downhill.
At last, if you want to see some badass web series about
mafia gang, you should really watch Mirzapur and you really love it.
